The rundown.
I was repeatedly hearing the same issues and concerns from my peers: Writers receiving criticism masquerading as feedback, suggestions with no understanding of the creator’s voice, the insistent and limiting application of the same structure techniques over and over… It was frustrating to watch exceptionally talented people fall into the trap of shaping their work to fit the ideals of some producer dude. You know the guy. We all know the guy. The “standard” is what everyone was trying to hit and no one was happy doing it. So, I created Break Out Sesh in an attempt to do something completely different. I wanted to bring writers together to form a community, a trust, a bigger and better collective of voices reverberating with the confidence in knowing their artistry matters.
Prior to Break Out Sesh, I was the Director of Marketing & Development at an entertainment startup and a consulting Marketing Specialist for Monster.com, Toyota, Warner Bros., Universal Music Group and more. During my time at my last job, I facilitated the development of 10+ multi-media initiatives including multiple web series, graphic novels, and short-film partnerships.
I am a dropout of CalArts, where I went for Theater. I currently live on the lam with my two very cute dogs. When I’m not keeping busy with watching the amazing shows coming out of “secondary” markets, you can find me gallivanting through forests and eating seaweed in multiple forms.

what’s my deal?
I am currently in the process of developing a collective. A vehicle. An operation. A really really BIG table that brings in the most diversity possible. I want to develop, produce, fund, and distribute the incredible stories we have inside of us to tell. My story. Your story. Their story. It’s an audacious endeavor but I’m ready for that!
Aren’t you?
